17-year-old Jordan King will start both CERTINA Formula Renault 2.0 UK races at Silverstone from the fourth row of the grid after a relatively low key qualifying on Saturday.

Despite being just over half a second off the ultimate pace, the end result was only two eighth place grid slots in what is an incredibly competitive series. King was pipped by team-mate Josh Hill – son former F1 World Champion Damon – in the opening session, but he returned the favour in the final qualifying session of 2011. The two young chargers were separated by just 0.025s in the opening twenty minutes of running and then 0.030s in session two – such is the quality of the field that the entire grid is covered by less than a second for the final round of the season tomorrow.

“I am going to go out there and give it my all,” said King. “We have nothing to lose and I want to end the season on a high – let’s just see how we go.”

The exciting season finale is set to unfold in front of a huge crowd at Silverstone tomorrow with the Formula Renault double-header taking place at 09:30 and 16:25 respectively. All the action will be broadcast live and in high definition on ITV4 and Jordan’s website will provide updates throughout the day. Whilst tomorrow will signal the end of the Formula Renaul UK season, Jordan is scheduled to compete in at least one further event – the Indian GP-supporting MRF Formula in two weeks time.
