“KF3 has a lot more power and is a lot faster than Mini Max – which is always good. Moving to KF3 has been a really exciting time for me, and winning my first European race at the WSK was fantastic. I’m aiming for at least a few more podium finishes before the year is out.”

2008

  • Stayed in Mini Max for a second year, achieving great success over the winter.
  • Won the first and the fifth rounds of the British Championship, placing him second in the championship at the end of the year
  • Won the pre-finals at the National Open and the British Grand Prix
  • In the finals finished third at the Open and fifth at the British Grand Prix

“By 2008 I was consistently up at the front in Stars and Super 1. That’s really good, because it was a big step up for me to be able to come from the back of the pack and start racing against the front-runners.”

2007

  • Moved up to Mini Max, winning numerous club races over winter testing (2006)
  • A good start to the season, ending in 12th place in the BRDC Stars of Tomorrow

“When I started off in Mini Max it was quite hard, because I wasn’t strong enough for the kart. After I started getting a bit quicker and moving towards the front, the other drivers up there didn’t know who I was. I had to fight for everything and make a name for myself.”

2006

  • Started karting as a cadet
  • Won all his novice races
  • By the end of the year had won his first competitive race

“Going into 2006 my aim was simply to get through into the ‘A’ finals. Halfway through the year I was starting to run mid-pack, and by the end I was beginning to win races.”
