Jordan King’s rapid rise through the ranks of motorsport began back in 2005, when he started karting on indoor tracks ‘just for fun’. The then 11-year-old soon got hooked, moving on to outdoor karting the following year as a cadet. In 2007 things got serious as Jordan moved to the Minimax Super One National Kart Championship – the key series that the vast majority of top British racers come through.
He finished 12th in his maiden campaign before improving his performance brilliantly in 2008 by coming a close second in the national championship. Jordan moved up to the KF3 series in 2009, also experiencing his maiden European triumph at the WSK International Series.
Jordan continued in karting in 2010, finishing as runner-up in the WSK KF2 Karting Master Series, which included a victory in Catelletto, Italy. The talented youngster also claimed 11th overall in the CIK-FIA World Karting Championship.
He made his car racing debut in superb fashion at the end of the 2010 season – contesting the four-round Formula Palmer Audi season finale at Silverstone. King belied his age by taking a pole position and a maiden podium position amongst a talented field. He moved to the Formula Renault UK 2.0 Winter Series, driving for Manor Competition, where he scored top six finishes at both Snetterton and Pembrey.
Staying with the team for the main Formula Renault UK 2.0 Championship in 2011, Jordan is set to embark on his first full season of car racing…
